Welcome to the RAINIER IPF Study information site
The RAINIER study is a clinical research study which is assessing an investigational medication for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a serious lung condition which gets gradually worse over time. It is caused by the development of scar tissue (fibrosis) in the lungs, which can make it difficult to breathe.
At this time there is no known cure for IPF, and the main treatment options are oxygen therapy and lung transplantation. In some countries, there is also a medicine which can be prescribed. Because of the limited treatment options, scientists and doctors are very interested to investigate new medicines for IPF.
The information in this website is for people who want to know more about the RAINIER IPF study, and to consider whether or not the study might be a suitable option for them.
